On March 1, the Maine Joint Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee released the majority and minority reports on Legislative Document 1603. This important legislation will now be placed on the House Calendar for consideration. Introduced by state Representative Dale Crafts (R-104), LD 1603-MAJ RPT would allow a state employee, who has a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm, to store a firearm in his or her vehicle on state property as long as the vehicle is locked and the firearm is not visible.
