The author seems to be stuck in a 1970's vacuum.
This collapse stuff is anticipated. It has become part of our
mental culture. I'm not going to become violent because I lost my
money, my bank account. I'm not going to rally and burn down the
greedy bankers mansion.

If there is a collapse, there is a grave concern that people with begin
operating a genuine capitalistic system once again. That's exactly
why there are too many props in the storage room to insure that
we keep paying taxes and working like fools.
