The final test was a guy taking a jar of the refined gas, got on his bicycle and rode too the lab, too test the stuff.

There have been no new refineries built in the US since 1976. There will not likely be any new ones built either. The reason - The EPA. No oil company would take on the risks involved in building a refinery in the US. Just prior to the last refinery being built and completed. Richard Nixon created the EPA. The EPA has stopped the building and expansion of refineries and destroyed the coal mining business and coal-fired utilities. Now we produce oil and ship much of it offshore to foreign refineries to make Gasoline, Diesel, Heating oil and Petrochemicals to be shipped back to us.
