Hey, FU. You had better sharpen up on your reading skills. I did not see one sentence in this thread where someone said they were willing or eagerly looking for collapse. The closest to it might be Mr. Blade recognition of our country replaying the last days of Rome
I doubt very much if any of the 'preppers' here view their prepping any differently than any of us view our insurance. Really don't want to use it , but DAMNED sure gonna have it.
As for the several skills yiou questioned in your post; I and any of the other 19 in our group of Extraordinary Gentlemen, can do any one of those things. We gather several times a month concentrating on woodsmanship, marksmanship, fitness and tactics. We are not the pot-bellied nitwits one sees on the news calling themselves 'Militias'. Fourteen of us have seen the elephant and the other six had to pass a test that anyone on this board would say would make them worthy.
I'm sixty years old and turned in passing times on confidence and infiltration courses until I was 45. I can still do a 7 minute mile in street clothes. The other gentlemen in our group of my generation are basically the same level.
As for a desire for collapse; When I get up tomorrow, after a short workout, I'll go nextdoor with some fresh white whiskey and see if my neighbors Black Cherry flavored ale is ready for sipping. I also wish to be doing this 15 years from now.
Collapse? Don't want it, ain't looking for it, but damn sure ready for it.
