Many of the blacks from Dr. Kings generation saw guns as a necessity. Maybe a necessary evil - but still a necessity. One of my black friends told me his father (who is in his 80's now) saw guns as his only means of survival with the prevalence of the KKK in the 50's and early 60's. He believed he had the right to defend himself, but he had an OBLIGATION to defend his family. He saw men like Sharpton and Jackson as opportunists advancing their own agendas. Another good example of MLK's mindset, was the mindset of Sargent Alvin York. Praise the Lord, and Pass the Ammo!
