HRM... something doesn't sound right, I'd like to hear comments on this:
Saiga 12s Converted by Tony Rumore/Tromiix Corp.
Axis holes tig welded closed
BBL shortened to 18.5"
Gas system modified as needed
Tromix cold weather trigger guard
Completly refinished in molly resin
K-Var US made AK-74 NATO length Buttstock
Tapco SAW pistol grip
US Fire Control Parts
Has had 85rds through it. $825 + S/H
UM... axis hole weld is acceptable? I thought not... can we say "M76 reweld?"

I'm not sure they are talking third hole there. There is a thread on mg.42 about a court case that went against the "once a machinegun always a machine gun" receiver theory.Worth a look. I think the M76 kits may have a cut thru the trunnion area if so that is not so good.

Well the only reason I mention M76 is that my reading of the M76 threads from way back when the kits were for sale, was that ATF said that a rewelded M76 receiver in particular was an MG. Nevermind the recent repeat threads...
I do know that MG42 rewelds are considered a semi-auto rifle, not an MG. Don't know where that post is, but it is on the MG42 site.
What other "axis hole" would it be on a Saiga12??? Hrm...

Those would be the "old trigger" location holes. After the pistol grip conversion there are two holes left open on each side of the receiver back near the stock. I bought a Saiga 20 2 weeks ago from an individual at a Michigan gun show for $180.00. Interesting the way they relocated the trigger rearward. Have seen the conversions on the web where the old holes were left open.

They are talking Vollmer over there .Not new stuff.I wasn't around back when, don't know about the old days.No pic but I assume that the trigger was moved forward ala AK for a pistol grip leaving an unsightly hole that needs filling.
There ya go .Dutchkma can type faster than I can.Probably over 20wpm.:)

(slaps forehead) DUH... YEAH I remember doing that to mine now! OK that makes sense now. They are just saying that this build has no "extra" holes. Got it! ;)
