This started life out as a Norinco Hunter. I'm not the first to have made the conversion, but I think I might have been the second.

Details, details! I'm under the impression that the AK hunter shares a some heritage with these Norinco models. I hope to aquire an example of a "hunter" as part of my collectiion.

Is this the type of conversion where a demilled Galil rear receiver stub is welded onto a trimmed back Norinco Hunter receiver? I have one of the pictures the guy who started all this (think his handle was "high road") posted over on gunsnet. Is it appropriate to post it here?

Supposedly the chinese T81 has nothing to do with any thing in US market.
Norinco did tried to sell semi T81's but somehow the T81 has the bolt position safty (wont' fire if bolt is not all the way forward) built-in the FCG and even in semi mode that safty is considered as a full auto feature, and there is no way to get around it......
If T81 can be called an AK then FNC can be seen as a AR-15 copy too...:)

Gone&didit, what happened to High Road?
He hasn't posted on AK.net for eight months or longer. He is a real nice guy, and made a number of these conversations. I thought he might have come over here, like me.
