So, from what ive researched, it seems that i can use a 30-06 barrel for an 8mm build, is this correct? as sarco has slightly rusty '06 barrels for $15 each, and i dont want to spend $130 on just one barrel.

you need an 8mm bbl. , 8mm bullets are .318, 3006 is .308, plus it will need to be rechambered. a rusty bbl if the bore is no good is useless. just do yourself a favor and buy the proper new bbl. an 8mm conversion will pay for itself in less than 1,000 rounds of shooting.

yes you will need an 8MM barrel. also a feed way spacer. and posable a differant booster.
I honestly gave up on the 8mm and sold all othe parts. BUT I know many guys did get very nice results. and vere able to use the cheap ammo. hope it goes will for you. HB

My gun runs like a house on fire on 8mm. it was designed for the 30 06 and really wants to eat up the more powerfull ammo.
Get a new 8mm bbl from the ammo store they are $129.00
Call Dan at www.angolaarmory.com , get a 30 06 booster and an extra .308 ctg stop. about 20 minutes with a dremel will convert the 308 stop into an 8mm one.
you will save about $40.00 this way.
