I have an unfired Milled MAK 90 that I am thinking about making into a fixed stock Polytech Legend clone. I can change out the gas block and front sight block. I would want to put a legend stock on it. Has anyone here ever welded a lower tang with a wedge shaped piece of steel on it to replace the part that is slant cut? I might be able to buy a rear milled receiver stub from an old kit or from Firing Line. It doesn't look like it would be that difficult for a good welder to do if I cut the piece to size and jigged it up to be welded. Of course it would have to be reblued and the slot cut for the sling swivel. What do some of you guys think?
