That depends on what you got in your parts kit. You will need lower rails support bushing & rivet set, make sure you get a support bushing rivet with that set. You need to do a parts count check, Remember you can have only 10 imported parts in your AK. The rest needs to be obtained from a US supplier. Here's the list of imported parts to choose from.
Welcome to building the fever starts!

you can find everything you need to build your ak's online, you just got to shop around for a good price. Find a romanian parts kit for $100 (alot of places jack it up to 120-150 but you can still find one for $100). The flats can be bought at tapco.com and they now have flats for fixed buttstocks, underfolding buttsotcks and sidefolders.
ak-builder.com has flats too (but I haven't tried them yet). They are good for buying the jig you need to bend up your flat. Get the one that does the top rails if you plan on making a few rifles. Red star arms has great us made parts you need to make it a legal us build. k-var.com is a little expensive, but if you got the money for it their bulgarian parts kits look like they come from new guns (they also sell krink parts and parts kits)
Another thing to consider, is buying a kit with a fire control group included. A G2 fire control group (which includes 3 U.S. made parts) will cost about $39 + shipping. If you buy a kit with a FCG included, you will save a substantial amount of money on parts you will probably need to make the gun legal anyway. Just my 2 cents worth.

Don't buy a rusted kit, to save money. It will cost you more money and alot more time in the long run. Don't ask me how i know, Ha,Ha. If your only thinking of building 1 or 2 AKs, i would buy a complete FFL reciever. This would cut build time in 1/2. All you would need then ( if you buy a FFL rec. for the kit you are building is, (rivits, or screws, U-drives), drillpress, drills, grinders, Demeral tool, rivit squezers, hammer, and if you are pulling the barrel, 12 to 20 Ton shop press and tools to remove barrel pin and barrel. You need a backup plate for riviting trigger guard, unless you use screws. You also need tools to put barrel back in. You can spend $1500 to $5000 just on tools to build AKs from a flat. So how many New AKs can you buy for $1500, 5 ROMYS, 3 Yugos, 1 Poly TEC. Legion. But than you would miss out on all the fun of building. I'm starting on my no. 7 build, another Romy. Good luck, on whatever you decide to build. Marry Christmas
