What did you pay for the kit? I think there is only one place to get receivers and they run about $400.00

Bought it from Gun Parts - I think it was between $325 and $350 - Those days at the Creek are a blur now. I spoke with the guy going the receivers when I returned - he went over the whole build on the phone. Seems straight forward as long as you can tig weld and your not in a hurry.

This has been discussed here before its a box receiver, very straight forward.
the charginging handle slot is probably the hardest part and tack weld. I HAVE not done one yet and I am aware of the ads in SGN for the receivers,
mags are costly, I follow these sites time to time hope these threads help. before you start any project you got to do the research first

Are kits still available?!? I thought they were gone?
There were a few threads on the FALFILES back when kits were "readily" available from Numrich. As I recall, there is mostly spot welding to do in order to get it to work.
Those receivers Pirate mentioned were FFL items too, although there was still work to do to them.
There are supposedly some mag well adapters but I've only read about them, never have seen one. The AR-70 mags are in fact unique in that they have a "shim" around the mag. One *COULD* make a magazine "shim" which is simply a sheet metal piece wrapped around the mag, and use a normal AR mag. It would be some work, but it would beat $60-75 per mag (ouch!)...

Check with Gun Parts - they had them at Knob Creek

Gun Parts sells them you get a mag with the kit, they were in the numrich ad in SGN. I am a builder so I don't buy FFL receivers, the company selling the receivers will do your kit. and yes the receivers are not finished the ejector must be added (riveted) , they are like 90%
Mag's again are spendy. I have seen the mag adapter's they are simular to the mag adapter for the galil ( spelled right?) to adapt ar-15 mags.
this is the forerunner of the ar-90 and is the basis for the sig series 551 to the 556 that are just out
if you can roll a AK receiver then this box should not be as hard, I recall a thread were PBB did a solid box for this kit

Do you have a pic of the finished rifle?

Ditto what Tokarev said - I'd like to see a finished rifle. I dug up that old thread on FALFiles and in a forehead-slapping moment I forgot about the US parts count. Can this take AR parts? I'm only partially interested but it might be nice to put one together.

Looks nice Machinist! What receiver are you going to use? I'm still on the fence with this one because I don't want to make a buch of magazine shims (yes I'm being lazy)...
