View Full Version : One more stupid question. Mall Ninja.

My 5.45 mags came in today. No ammo yet.
So me and the neighbor were checking them out.
The .223 ammo fits in the 5.45.
Just wondering if zombies were attacking :rockin: Could the mags be interchangeable with the ammos.
Or would bad things happen?
The 5.45 30 round mags just seem a little longer, I guess to accommodate the thicker case??

Well unless you've had them mpi inspected, you're risking a sprained toe... ;)
I have no idea, I believe it would work... as long as they feed ok... I suppose I could try it.

Century used to modify 5.45 mags and sell them with their 5.56 rifles. I think they just used a different follower.

Well, I just gave a stupid answer.....I thought this was about AK mags, then I saw this was in the AR forum....DDDUUUUHHH

no --the 5.45 mags are wider at the feed lips. 5.56/223's will start popping out of the 5.45x39 mags too easy.
you can use some 5.56 mags to fire 5.45x39 but not the other way around.

Yeah it was really strange. The .223 fit in the 5.49 but there is a defineite difference in the width of the mags as j4 said. Cool. Thank you.
5.45 is down to 11 cents a round at Aim. I just ordered 2,060 rounds in tins.
Guys name was Tim. I said Hi this is Tim. :) What the hell happens if you loose the can opener. He says "You got a chisel" :)

i got a couple tins of the 5.45--it is a sweet little round. much fun to shoot.
4th i hope they told you the stuff in the tins is mildly corrosive?
no biggie--just don't soot a couple hundred rounds out of your new 5.45 plaything and toss it in the closet without a through cleaning.

if you put 5.45 in a .223 mag or visa versa your hemorroids will flare up. DON'T DO IT!!!!
