Wanting to hunt elk, but would like to use the same gun to hunt bears in the future.

PSL-54C MOD? HELP

Hello all. I am Mrlockandload from mrlockandload.com. I have PSL-54c that I have a question on. It is a Century Arms import. One of the new made in Romanian PSL's. I am not new to firearms and fine at doing my own mods. I modified a Hungarian SA-85m stock to fit her. Ill put pics up when I am done. Now to my question for you guys. When I put my 6x42 POSP scope on this rifle, the scope is canted quite a bit to the left. I can lean the whole rifle over a bit and make the reticle horizontal. I know that this will work but I would like to correct this physically. I have read that the guns and scopes are hand fitted overseas so I was wondering how as this is not the original scope for the rifle? From my own assessment there are two sections of the scope base that is about 1.5 inches long and 1 inch long that rests up agents the rifles top rail. These pieces are on the forward part and rear part of the scope mount. What I am thinking is to file and stone these down while adjusting the actual tightness of the mount to the rail. Dose anyone have any experience with correcting this? I wanted to ask you guys before I start removing material. Please let me know. Thanks

Here are a few pic of the fabled Hi Point 45 ACP carbine. I will not bore you with a lot of rambling, but will answer any questions. I will say it looks cool, especially when viewed from the "dangerous end". I added the fore grip I had lying around, but it is offered as an option for I think $25 bucks. These are going to be big I am thinking. I was told only a couple of hundered are out now with more coming. I have not fired it yet, but will report back when I do. Ok, here are the pics enjoy:

OK TRX, here are some photos of my range box, it is made from 3/8" thick pine and 1/4" plywood. the construction techniques are basically the same as the ones I used to make my gun cases.

wood cases 2 (http://projectguns.com/case1.html)

the lid holds the most used stuff, the metal box has punches, cleaning rod allen wrenches and few other usefull items, next is a dual face hammer, then needle nosed pliers and a big screw driver. the wood block has a smaller multi tip screw driver, pencil, chamber tags and a little ball peen hammer, a bottle of LSA a small file set, a magnet on a string for picking up empties when required ( thats why I like steel cased ammo!!) stapler and another box with staples, band aids , batteries and mag spoons.

the top tray lifts out to expose 2 full depth compartments, the middle one holds my spotting scope and NFA papers, the other ammo, there is another smaller tray that covers another compartment beneath it.

It has pretty much everything I need to shoot & tinker when I go to the range, the only drawback is that I tend to over fill it and it is rather heavt!!

AMD barrel price?

Trying to get an idea on what is a fair price for an AMD 65 barrel (12.5"), brand new manufacture, still in raw state (no park or finishes of any kind).

Sound stupid, but I have one and someone is interested in it...but I bought it quite some time back and don't have a clue what I paid for it (originally bought from the AK-Builder website).

Thanks!

Range trip from HELL!!

We closed the shop this week to take some time off, we were able to rent a small private range for the day down in Homestead right on the edge of the everglades. we got there around 11:30 and the heat was unbelieaveable, it had to be 100 in the shade, and the mosquitos were out in clouds.

we had a bunch of different hardware, my hk21, 7.62 x 54R bren, my shorty RPD, an m16 lower with a .223 upper and a 7.62 x39 upper and the ppsh pistols we got from IO a few weeks ago. Jorge already SBR'ed his. along with a few other guns and some tannerite.

I started with my bren, this was the first time I had to reaqlly abuse it a little since building it. I have run about 700 rounds throught it preiviously with no problems and the thing just refused to work.

we brought a lamp to blow up with the tannerite and none of the 6 bottles went off despite multiple hits with .223 and 7.62 x 39. after being in the sun for a while the guns got to hot to even pick up, we had to move them to the shade to cool off.

the 7.62 upper on the m16 was a beast, when it worked, it jammed a lot, I think either the mags or the mag catch are the problem. but when it ran it really laid down the lead. I have some good videos and will post them tomorrow.

The PPS43's worked great, specially as a carbine, I will be activating the stock on mine this week. the hk21 runs worse since I got it back from michaels machines, it will be going back this week.

The shorty RPD ran like a watch, I ran several belts through it and had a blast with it. now I have a pile of dirty guns and a million mosquito bites to deal with!!

Here is the first part of a review for the clipped and pinned SUO lower housings from Shockwave.

The lower is made for all HK weapons and clones, and is German-made for a Malaysian contract. I really like it. The trigger pack from my C93 dropped right into the SUO lower. The SUO lower looks a lot better than the Navy style housing that came with the rifle. The next step is to take it out to the range.

On Saturday I was able to test the Shockwave C & P "SUO" H&K Lower on my Century Arms C93 Sporter (HK 93 Clone). It was very easy to install and guess what...?...It worked! No tweaking, adjusting, messing around with anything! The grip is really nice and a major improvement over the Navy style lower. It made the rifle a lot nice to look at, and more importantly, a lot more fun to shoot. For $50, you can't go wrong. I definitely recommend this upgrade.

i have been pondering building/buying a ar-15 9mm upper. but the cost of all the associated parts and hardware is putting me off.

i thought about getting one of the hi-point carbines but their newer versions are running about $200-$230 ish. a far cry from the $70 some odd bucks the old "apes" sold for years ago. and then there is the mag problem --no hi-caps and the mags made for the hi-point are fairly expensive for what they are.

so i found a new in box sub-2000 carbine that takes 59 smith mags for $300.

still high as these things sold for about $250 not that long ago. but guns even with the recession ain't going down much--it seems like they are going up slowly in price.

the sub-2000 is looking more like what i am needing compared to an expensive AR-15/9mm conversion and the not quite as cheap as the good old days hi-points.

any body have first hand experience with the sub-2000?:welcome:

First off, I finished my stamped reciever conversion of a yugoslav M64 underfolder AK parts kit. I ended up painting it with rustoleum grill paint because the cold blue was just being a bitch. I used 400 grit sand paper to make it look like it was carried for years.

My milled Yugoslav M70 build [which is now indexed on google images as an m-64, lol] has undergone a few minor changes. I took these pics right before the most recent though... I made an experimental aluminum gas piston for it. It might turn into a pretzel, but I just wanted to see if it would work. :scared: I love lathe work, it is so easy and relaxing... The stock got wrapped in "camo" colored paracord, now it isn't constantly ringing whenever the rifle is held. The damn thing had the harmonics of a bell, frickin' constant ringing! Oh, the slot in the side of the M70's topcover was from the left handed charging handle I welded on and then cut off shortly after. No real reason to fix the slot, it ain't like the thing'll stop dust from getting in anyways...

Finally got around to taking pics of my m-24/47 yugoslav mauser. [Huh, most of my gunstuff is commieguns] Got it for christmas from my dad last year... Oh, also took pics of one of my dad's 590s. Really cool shotgun, the sights on them are awesome. The paint on the front practically glows. AR stripper clip guide over the serial number for paranoia's sake.

ETA: Huh, spoiler tags don't work... They usually make it so you can hide the pics so you have to click something to open them, then there aren't 50 pics loading at once...
