Default 1972 Non G Kit

I picked up a Romy Non G Kit dated 1972, all matching except the top cover for $175.00 at the SAR show in York Pa today. And my buddy got a 1979 Non G kit for $175.00 yesterday. The finish is wore off both pretty well but bores are excellent. Heres mine I'll get a pic of his when I see it agian.

These came strait from Century, yep you know Century. They brought 5 kits to the show and we bought the last 2. I even have the free pen to prove it.
Funny thing I noticed, mine came with a slant brake but is had a muzzle nut.

That looks pretty nice. I've noticed most of the non-G Romy's have most of the finish worn but the bores are in nice shape.

A friend and myself were there on Friday and when he noticed those his jaw dropped and he pointed at the price, I thought it was kind of funny because I told him the prices have been going up, he got a G kit from DPH when they were like $130 with the G2 group and was talking about getting another one. Guess he waited to long by his reaction.

Excellent find. Good for you. Even though Century told us they were out of kits. yah right. LOL.
Dinged and myself had a thread going on those older Romies. That one looks in excellent shape. But what we did was make ours look battlefield.
I dragged mine behind my truck for a few miles but dinged put some work in his.
With the kits I have left, about 9 sitting here, I think I am going to start doing more battlefield look AKs.
Over the years I have seen some AK builds here that are incredible.
But for some reason, people that don't know anything about the weapons, seem to get drawn to the old beat up look.
This question has come up before. But maybe the future will hold a better value on the battfield AK look.
I guess what I am saying is "I earned these scars, leave them there."
I grabbed the carved Yugos and I still remember the seller saying he was sorry cause they were all carved up. HMM.
Just my .02 but that is a good buy and a nice weapon. Good for you.
Now which one looks better to you. The old or the new.

I have two non G kits picked up from Weaponeer a few years back. Built both into East German clones. No finish was left on the kits, but as already noted, premo bores.

Thumbs up bluejack.

Excellent job on that one. Good work. O.K. O.K I been teasing bluejack so here is the tip of the week.
Apex has these kits for $175.00 plus shipping. Don't know how many they have left but I bet they don't last long. Damn with the price of Romy Gs at $175.00 I would say that is a buy now.
bluejacks computer alarm is going off now.
