NO. I believe that their law states that no magazines over 10 rounds.

Great the guy just sent me $510 without telling me about the law. Then he wanted me to break the mags down into parts.

It is legal to buy hi cap magazine parts for replacement of damaged hi cap magazines that are already legally owned.. ca residents can own hicap mags that were in possession before the ban in 2000 so it is legal for you to ship the magazines to CA as long as they are for repair/replacement only.. just have him sign a statement that they are for replacement repair use only and and your safe...B2B

If in doubt check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for the FAQ

If in doubt check out Calguns.net for the FAQ
This is correct for CA, but I would be very careful with this. Sounds like the guy was trying to get around the law and leaving you liable for the mistake.

My advise; just be care to cover your ass in this deal.

To help CYA, I'd ship the bodies in one package and the rest of the parts in another.
Or just give him his money back and put them back up for sale. Like others have said, this could come back and bite you in the ass.

You're not responsible for the hi-caps--the person who recieves them in CA is responsible under CA law.

As for breaking them down into parts? Hummmm???!!! Maybee! Not sure. Consult Calguns on this.

But new, working post-ban hi-caps are absolutely illegal in CA--if the UPS or whomever opens this package (they routinely x-ray stuff) before the guy recieves the stuff.... he's in deep Sh_it. Hi-cap mags (if you already have them in CA) cannot be transfered or sold within the state. They cannot be brought into the state, or shipped into the state (felony). If you purchase some, and fly them home with you on a plane--you're in deep doo doo, and you will most likely be arrested when you disembark.

If you possess hi-cap mags purchased before the ban--this is completely kosher.

Even so--I never go to the range with my precious hi-caps. I always go with a ten-rounder to zero or plink. The scum cops and ATF goons hang about guns shows and ranges looking for people to screw--I usally shoot just outside of Vegas (at base-camp Desert 1) and then I still do not transport my hi-caps out or into state.

I keep my stuff in a deep dark place, and it will come out when necessary as in a national emergency, constituitonal restoration scenarios, or when SHTF.

Even the gun-shops and gun show dealers in Nevada will check your state ID before selling hi-caps... they will not sell to residents of California.

And special warining to those Californian's who attend gun-shows in Nevada and Arizona, the ATF routinely monitors the plates of vehicles coming into the gun show parking lots. These numbers are forwarded to the CHP--whom you will see sitting on the interstates running plates as cars enter. If you attended a gun-show, and parked in the provided lot... there is a high-chance that you will be stopped and searched.
There is some good reading on this topic on Cal-guns I believe. If you want to go to a gun show out of state--rent a car when you get there, or take a taxi from your hotel.

Also... do not have NRA stickers, Glock factory stickers or anything similar on your car. The CHP is instructed to pull these cars over if they are entering the state--especially when there is a gun show in Vegas, Pheonix or Reno. These make you a target.

I have a Greenpeace sticker in the windor of my mini-van--it's perfect camouflage.
