Default My favorite Paperweight.

Whilst I wait for a replacement Galil bullet guide , went ahead and pulled off everything else : Barrel, Trigger Guard , stock etc, total strip down. Going to re -phosphate and refinish.

After bead blasting (Trigger guard removed prior to blasting) noticed what look like a crease in the Steel. Sanded the area and remarkably exposed a "mirror image" of the safety stop on the receiver wall.

I have NEVER seen anything like this previously. Considering how the stop sits snugly against the receiver wall, am I to assume that the receiver wall is "ballooning" on use to form such a mark.

Anyone have a theory ??.

Maybe they sandblasted it with the selector stop on, that would explain why it would be raised.

But what if they [whoever made the gun] did, with it still on?

No again. It's a "Famous" ORF Receiver ( Hence it's "Paperweight" status) and when originally purchased, it came without a trigger guard/mag. release attached.

If it came from ORF, it must have been an act of Todd

Todd bless us all !!

It did indeed descend from the land of Todd, in a Brown chariot, with what I originally thought was a special message for me.

My FFL explained with pity, that "ORF" did not mean, "O Righteous Friend".

He had some previous dealings and now does not listen to the word of Todd either.
