Default P64 (Polish Mak) at the range

Had some fun with the new Polish P64 at the range today. It had one failure to feed in each of the first two clips of ammo. After that it ran like a watch. Shooting from the standing position, two handed, it would group almost dead on vertically to the point of aim and about 4" to the left of the aim point. I started aiming for the right edge of the black in the bullseye and she planted them right in the middle! The rear sight was a bit to the left from the factory. When I got home I gave it a few taps to drift it back to center. About a 1/32" adjustment. It should be darn close to perfect next time I take it to the range!
I found it more comfortable to shoot than my buddy's Hungarian Mak with it's alloy frame. Doesn't jump as much. I really like the way this little pistol works! You can reaccquire the target very quickly. I could rapid fire a clip into a 4" wide by 2" tall pattern in about six seconds! If I slowed down to aim better the groups were about 2" x 2" around.
In short, it fits my small hands very well. Trigger feel in SA is just great! And it's a very tight shooter. Two failures to feed in the first dozen rounds. Flawless after that. I ran 100 rounds through it. These are terrific little pistols for the money!
I can't wait to try it again now that sight is centered up!

Oops. Meant to put that in there. Sorry.
I was 30' from the target. (10 yds.)

I need to shoot mine sometime. They're pretty impressive as far as fit/finish go. Well worth the price.

I have one of these and absolutely love it. I use it for CCW. There is a new P-64 forum that has some good info for replacement parts, such as springs and the like to adjust trigger pull and recoil. Here's the link:

One last thing I'd like to add. Re-reading my post it sounds like I'm bragging. Well... I am in a way. ;-) I was pleased with how I did. But I don't want to make myself out to be some expert shooter. I'm a beat up fat guy who is getting back into shooting after a long absence. That was back in 1990 that I last shot Marksman with a M14. I'm way out of practice. My point here is this. If I can pick up this gun and make it work that well in the first session, then anyone can. I think that pretty well defines an effective and easy to use tool like this pistol.
I'll have to drag my wife off to the range sometime. She was raised with guns and even out-shot me with my little Berreta .22 hand gun back 25 years ago when we were dating. If she can pick this pistol up and out-shoot me again, you know the gun is a winner. ;-)
