Harry, try subguns.com, they have a classifieds section as well as a very active NFA forum. If one isn't for sale there the forum guys will direct you to one. Also your local NFA dealer should be consulted as he will be the one transferring it to you.
BTW, re: FA fun one of the cheapest MGs out there right now is the MAC 11 series. Basic stamped sheetmetal subgun, but the accessories available for it are legion. There are also several companies making replica beltfed MGs like the MG42, 34, etc that use the MAC11 lower as the trigger group. The "upper receiver" is not an MG, so you can purchase multiple uppers and swap the registered M11 between them. They aren't cheap, but compared to a transferable original they are a bargain. Someone also makes a .22 conversion upper for cheaper shooting, takes 10/22 mags fed in from the side.
As far as using the DIAS as a safety sear, that would require the rifle have a full auto hammer and carrier installed. Not a good idea. Dunn, do you have a reference for the lawsuit where the DIAS maker won in court?
