first focal plane has never been a priority for me in tactical scope selection, but standard size ring selection is.

Standard size ring selection? The scope I'm looking at is 30mm.

Thought I remembered IOR had some funky off standard size tube/rings. IOR has an excellent reputation. Looks like a winner for what you are looking for.

Upon further investigation, you are also correct as well.
IOR Valdada scopes come in 30mm and 32mm. I didn't realize that.
The one I was looking at is a standard 30mm. I didn't know a 32mm even existed until now.

I read someplace on the net that NightForce was considering a FFP scope as well. But, I've not heard any new updates on that.

I haven't been in the market for a tactical scope since 2006, but I remember hearing that back then also.

My memory isn't always as good as I would like it, but I think I remember some questions regarding bad customer service on IOR scopes a couple of years ago. That may be the reason I went a different direction, I don't know, but might want to check into the quality of their customer service now. Hopefully it's good or better. I hope I'm remembering wrong.

If you haven't done so already, you might want to cruise around Snipershide. Lots of opinions there and also some good working knowledge.

Snipers hide and Sniper Paradise are two places I've already been. That's what originally lead me to IOR and NightForce over a standard Leupold.

There is still a large group of Leupold diehards there

Yep. I noticed that too. But honestly, I think they (Leupold) are over rated and over priced for what they actually offer. Your NightForce is a much better scope for the money, even if it does cost more.
