Default Test & torture day at the range

I took a few guns to the range today and gave them a thourough testing before tearing them down to parkerize.
the first is one of my semi mg42's

the next is a reweld semi mg34:

I also took my bren, but it still is not running 100%. I think it may be a combination of ammo and mags.

Stan -- You need your own range!

I don't think I've ever seen a '42 run that long without a stoppage. The barrel was smoking!!

Your work is outstanding.

the 34 & 42 were a real labor of love, it took a lot of tweaking but they run great.

Outstanding job on them both Pirate.
I recently got and WLA M53 and it too runs good out of the box, but I can appreciate what it takes to make one of these run. I’m now hooked on belt fed semi’s.

belt guns are an expensive addiction!! now with ammo prices through the roof you can't shoot them like that to often.

Pirate,
Are those 8mm or .308 on the 42's?

If 8mm, what brand?

shiver me friggin timbers and blow the man down!!!!
that was some cool shit. i've never seen footage of ''hitlers buzzsaw'', man I bet that they ATE the shit outta some ammo in ww2!!!
what caliber was it?\
per the prev post, i assume that these are prone to stoppage and jamming. was this the case back in the war as well?
i could be wrong, but i think that these weapons are still in combat use, yes? and they still have the highest cyclical rate of fire of a belt fed infantry/support weapon?
yes?
