Update - after a month of on-again-off-again attempts to phone S&W customer support and getting busy signals, I *finally* got them on the line... $10 for the sear and I'm happy! 800-331-0852
Hopefully this is the only thing this pistol needs... I got it for nearly half price via a face-to-face sale, and I think I know why I got it so cheap

It appears the previous owner didn't know how to strip the gun and broke the sear. At least that's my guess... but we'll see soon enough

Now I'm going to make all of the recommended tweaks to the pistol and see if it can be the functional pistol it is supposed to be. Then maybe a suppresor for it
