Default What is currently the best quality surplus 7.62x54r ammo?

I am looking to buy some surplus 7.62x54 russian ammo. I see there ia a good buy on Russian 147g ammo at Sportsman Guide. There is also some Hungarian surplus and I think Hungary makes good stuff in general. I also see some Bulgarian ammo. I am looking for cans of 440 rounds. What are your opinion on the accuracy of these various rounds? I will pay a little more for the better ammo. Thanks for the info in advance.

Can't say anything about the Russian.
Do you know what year the Bulgy is? I have some of the older stuff like 50's-early 60's, it works but it's not that great though.
The Hungarian is nice, most (that I've seen) is late 70's into the 80's stuff.

I've gotten some of the Russian. It was late 70's surplus.
I am impressed with it. My Mosin's seem to perform best with it overall.
I got mine from AIM.

I'm happy if it satisfies 3 criteria:
1) it goes bang
2) it makes a group less than 2 MOA at 100 yards
3) it's cheap

My eyes aren't up to the sub-MOA crap any more...

The Hungarian and Czech light ball are both good.

The Bulgarian is 80's production. It seems Sportman's guide has the best deals going on currently.
Russian 147g 1977 production 1 can $87, 2 cans $170
Bulgarian 149g 1980's production 1 can $90, 2 can $170
Hungarian 147g 1978 - 84 production 1 can $95, 2 cans $180

Plus I can get $5 off per can and free shipping if I join thier "Club".

Its all cheap. Fresh out of the can it all goes bang. I am leaning towards the Hungarian with the hope that they put as much care into thier ammo manufacturing as they do thier rifles.

The Hungarian Ammo in 54r is up to snuff.
I don't have much of it, sorry to say, but what I have is very good.

I can't argue with any of the stuff I got. It's all pretty decent, just corrosive.

Back when it was all $40 for a tin it was all good - you really couldn't complain about any of it.

Nowadays when it is gouged up to nearly 3x that, I must say I have reservations in buying any x54R that isn't reloadable.
