Examiner = government worker drone who winds up with your form 1 on their desk, they run it through the approval process and eventually send you the approved form with tax stamp. After approval, if you want to modify the length with extra/different bbls they will make a note of this in your file when you notify them.

I've got all of the paper work together and have a couple more questions. Is there a perfered method of attatching the photographs to the form 1? Tape, glue, staple? It would suck to get these forms kicked back for something minor like that. I intend to apply for two SBR's. Can I send both sets of the completed forms in the same envelope? If you can send multiple sets together would you still need to send two finger print cards for each set of completed forms? Thanks for all the help.

make sure they're double sided

glue stick for photo's is fine

I would use 2 seperate envelopes for 2 applications, less chance of something getting mixed up. prints cards for each application.

mail USPS priority with confirmation

I have sent all of paper work in. Thanks for all of the help, this may have been a pain to do without having this thread to refer to.

I live near KCMO on the Kansas side. I sometimes find myself at ranges in MO. I read somewhere that you need to get written permission to take a SBR into another state. Is this true? It would suck a bit if Im unable to enter another NFA friendly state to shoot for a few hours without some kind of permission. I could understand if the state you wanted to go to didn't allow SBR's. Can someone clearify this for me. Thanks again.

From what I understand you can now fax the travel form to ATF and they will fax back an approved copy within a day or two if they are not busy. Still have to mail the other NFA forms but they seem to be helpful on expediting these forms so you can move your stuff without waiting months.

I saw a picture of a VZ58 with a REAL short barrel. The standard barrel is around an inch under so it?s an NFA. Ok, if I want to build one of my vz58 kits like the one in the picture I saw, which length do I put on the paper work? Do I send off the paperwork with the standard length, and after I get the stamp then shorten the barrel and notify the examiner of the length change OR do I apply for the stamp with the modified length; the length of the barrel after I cut off a few inches?

And here is a stupid question, what exactly is the barrel length, muzzle to trunion, muzzle to breech?
Thanks
