It looks like they will not be a problem. I have checked the spot everyday now since, and haven't seen them back.

Maybe they were just having an orgy in the corner and have now moved on.

I did see a nice Rooster checking out that corner of the barn on Sunday morning. maybe he had a buffet dinner the other night.

The rooster was very nice looking. He had what looked like 3 foot tail feathers. He would look nice on the wall and in the oven, but I enjoy watching him run around the yard too much to cook him up.

I think their breeding season is in early spring. We used to throw a couple scoops of cattle chop in the fields from time to time. They like feed corn. It keeps them from 'moving on' for lack of food. Keep and eye out for others, soon you should start seeing young ones.

If it were me, I'd give the cock bird another season to breed before cooking/ mounting. One rooster can service many hens but I'd try to 'manage' them to keep more of them on the property.

If they have a good food source and a relatively safe piece of property, they will be plentiful soon.

That was a dirty trick they pulled on that young couple..
Now my L.O. buddy told me it is not illegal too burn your own home down, it only becomes illegal if you claim insurance.
