Hey, did anybody watch ANY of the Revolution this weekend? Which is what July 4th is all about? Who said we grew horns AFTER 1812? "Please stop". While it's true that only 20% of the Colonists were loyal to the concept of America, we'd've lost to the British if it wasn't for the efforts of the Honorable Benjamin Franklin and his success in convincing the French to commit it's Naval fleet and troops. Then the rest was the ability of the Honorable George Washington to be strict and rally troops and make some brilliant stategic moves against the British (it's well known that Washington was a top officer in the British military, so he knew alot of British strategy). Sir, Americans grew "horns" way before 1812. Fact is, if Americans didn't grow not only horns, but great big balls between 1776 and 1785, we'd be subjects of the British Crown right now.

What I ment by(growing horns)IMHA,was that after the 1812 war America or I should say , These United States, knew they were a force to be reckened with.We the people realized we needed a good size standing Army & Navy to deal with Thugs. It wasent until after the Civil War that the term THE UNITED STATES was used.  PS ,I watched the History the 4th.Cable tv hooked up to my PC screen.PC+SCI-FI + History Ch = Railbuggy

What really, REALLY disturbs me is that in spite of all the writings by our founders, both personal and in the voluminous Federalist Papers, explaining exactly, EXACTLY, what they meant by The Second Amendment, that we still have FOUR supreme ct justices that think it is NOT an individual right. Now that is scary! It could very easily have been 5 to 4 the other way and we would be in really deep s*it instead of celebrating our GREAT victory.

Dont ask what your country can do for you but what I can do for my country? Buy more ammo,take the appleseed test,keep your friends close and your enemys closer.The SHTF can happen yesterday.Were done in the shit in the middle east.Endgame,we must play this out.I dont want to live in the 19th century.Go George Go.With out oil were Cowboys again.The NWO rulers will have microwave popcorn,I will have a camp fire and my homebrew.

We knew we were a force to be reckoned with in 1789. "1812" just confirmed that we didn't slack from one generation to the next, which is the true test of time.

Seems I remember seeing/reading/hearing one reason the japs wouldn't invade the usa is because of firearm ownership......

My grand parents had ranches on the northern california coast during the war and I remember how they talked of sitting out watching the ocean with guns at night in case they did. apparently there were subs seen at one point but never much else. |
