I'm amazed how all you guys forgot that Gas was over $4 a gallon in 2008 when George Bush Jr. was President.

I already know many of you will say that's bs, so do a google search on the historic price of gas.

No Bush didn't do it either. The President has as much control over the price of gas as they have over the weather. None.

Not necessarily true. When there agencies like the EPA, which is a federal agency which creates regulations and enforces law meaning it falls under Executive control, dictate how gas, one of many petroluem products, is to be made it increases costs at the refineries. Now the refineries, like any other production facility answers to CEOs, most likely a board of CEOs, who's sole purpose is to maintain the success (revenue) of the company/corporation. Now those CEOs pass off the added costs at the refineries to their company on to the end buyer. They do the same thing with Corporate Taxes.

So when an agency that you oversee increases the amount of regulations to be followed by the petroluem industry, and you have shifted oil subsidies (which are dumb anyway) towards wind mills and solar panels and successful companies like Solyndra, than you definitely have some control over it.

And I guess the price of oil hasn't been driven up by China and India using oil like there's no tomorrow. It wasn't too many years ago that USA and Europe were the main consumers of oil. Now add 3 Billion, more or less, people in China and India using more oil than we do. Of course the price is going to go up. And keep going up.

What burns me up is the media came out three weeks ago and said the oil companies were cutting back on production. The law of supply and demand then kicks in. Don't ask me to back this up; I could have three weeks ago when I saw it.

We are by far the number one consumer of oil. China's trading partners are countries we don't do Oil trade with for the most part. There are many factors that go to into the price of oil and Government regulations is definitely a factor. With the recent strides in Fracking should make the price of oil plummet but it hasn't. There are over 100 different feul mixtures in America right now. That is due to different cars taking different types of octane, but do moreso to government regulation. Keystone would cause the price to plummet, but we all know what happened with that.

There are those with agendas who don't like the use of oil as a fossil fuel. It's a bait and switch. Make cheap abundant fuel seem expensive so expensive fuel seems cheap. Government needs to just stay out of it, stop subsidizing, stop regulating and stop interfering. It's already known the Government has the exact oppisite of the Midas Touch.

How about a pedal car, like a bicycle; then they will tax you on that slow transport mechanism also!
