You have Black History Month.


You have Cesar Chavez Day.


You have Yom Hashoah
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.


You have BET.



But:


If we had WET, (white entertainment television), we'd be racist.


If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racist.


If we had white history month, we'd be racist.


If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives, we'd be racist.


If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racist.



In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racist.



Did you know that some high school students decided to make a club for only the white students because the other ethnicities had them. They all got sent to court for being racist but the African-American, Latino, and Asia clubs were not even questioned.



You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.



I am white and I am proud, but you call me a racist.



If this makes sense to you pass it on titled Im proud to be white.. unless your scared what people will think of you..... stand up and let everyone know your proud to be white!!!!!

I pray that angry folks like yourself would open their minds and learn a "little" history as it applies to racial differences in America, apply a bit of morality, and ask if the world you envision will be a good place for your children to grow up in. I understand your anger completely, but lets think of better ways to solve these troubling issues rather than spewing pure hate on full auto. Hate was never the American way. The KIA and the POW's in my family fought for simple but very lofty ideas. Lets run America with our heads and enjoy it with our hearts - respectfully - my fellow American.

Please explain exactly what is angry and hateful about that post. I agree some ideas are very simple. Equality is just that. It should apply to all races. It clearly doesn't. Since when does treating everyone the same not apply to white people? Isn't that racist? Of course it is.

See, I agree with you guys - BIG TIME - but being really pissed off in general and letting that anger out randomly on "those" people, is exactly the way to make it all worse. They don't know why you're pissed, but they got the "vibe" and it probably didn't make'em feel too good - so they go start racist clubs. These inconsistencies and hypocrisies that exist in full view within our great society are just a symptom of these different minorities feeling - minor, and in the past, threatened, and terrorized in the worst of ways. If it had been the other way around how do you think we'd handle it?. What happened in the late fifties in the south was truly awful, a sad page of our history, and these wounds need time to heel - and they are. This would work much better if some of us "white guys" were to exercise some restraint. A whole bunch of what people call "racist" is really just the fact that we have different cultures living side by side here in the USA, and the word "racist" gets used too much - "sterotypist" would be more accurate.

Here's one - it might be an idea to start a "White Guys Cub" that would allow all races, sexes, creeds, and orientations - with the sole purpose of pointing out that those "other" clubs are racist, and we need to move beyond this stuff here in the USA. What would be the point of the club? Just to get together and do what white guys do, but include anyone who think that would be fun. I think it would set an incredible example.

I am an aerial firefighter now, but before that I was an airline pilot. United got sued for not hiring enough women and minorities at one point. Fact is, there aren't a whole lot of women and minorities that had the requisite logged time and experience. It was felt they didn't have that experience because they experienced racism at lower levels of aviation - bet that was true, if anything can be a "boy's club" - airplanes are right up their with guns. So be cause of a COURT ORDER, United "lowered the bar" on their pre-qualifications for new-hires so these folks could get in. Now that flies in the face of safety, logic, and fairness to those who were more qualified and got passed over - not to MENTION fairness to the passengers, who deserve to be flown by the best airline crews that can be found. I got into the airline game long after that had happened, and can say that any minority pilot I flew with was as good as any of the white "guys", and some of the best airline pilots are women - that multi-taking brain of theirs does very well in the cockpit, and they don't have a cavalier "cowboy attitude" when they fly - a negative unless you are at war - or (just a bit) if you're fighting fires.

While I was in school I worked in hardware stores. I was good at it, and I liked helping the older customers that were in a retirement community close by. Total Rembrandt Americana. Something happened there that really opened my eyes though. The old manager quit and I heard the owner tell the new manager - not to hire black people. That job got me through school, and taught me some of the best lessons in my entire life because it was a mix of older guys working there part time, WWII vets, imparting their wisdom to me while I tied PVC pipe to their roof racks - priceless life experience to my young ears - but all that was never available to a young black man. I could have just been a different color and had a completely different life. Imagine that for a moment.

If that attitude doesn't change then we all lose. The idea that anyone can succeed in America - should mean - all Americans who believe in this country. I believe that clubs and organizations you refer to hurt the minorities the worst. They make good white men angry because of blatant hypocrisy - and oh do we HATE that! Those clubs seam racist, pure and simple - I wonder if thye ar focused and organised to be racist though. We'll never know 'cause we can't join and that ain't right! SO... Do I have an answer? No. I have a direction? - tolerance. So, lets start a "White Guys Club" and let anyone join. That will expose the racism you speak of, but it would not work so well if some of these guys really are just racist.

I went to high school in Texas. I had a brand new shiny Riddell helmet. The black guys on me team used to LOVE to deck me because they're families couldn't afford one for them. I got the message, and the bruises to go with it. It pissed me off, and I used to say the "magic word".

I was in high school then, and have a different world view now. We are moving into tough times and we need to think "American" and "American's First" - then help who we can. I think we can rise above this internal stuff, and if we want to continue to make the rules in this world, we'd do best to worry about China and Russia, and show those in our own society who had reason to doubt the White Man before that we are all joining the same team, and will have no need for "special exclusive clubs" in an American that lives up to it's promise. That America will be the strongest America we can possibly build, and with storm clouds building on the horizon we best get at it - and be proud to be, hell, "purple" but - American!

Our strength is in our diversity. From Navajo wind talkers to Rock-n-Roll, minorities continually help us lead this world in all areas. To me, that is the greatness of America and I hope ya'll see what I'm gettin' at.
