Not that you have alot of free time on your hands right now but for later reference, these guys are offering a factory tri-fuel unit.
I can speak to the quality of their generator unit because I used mine for 11 years and thought it was a 5000watt until the B&S engine self destructed. It was while I was searching for an engine rebuild kit that I discovered it was only rated at 4000w.

That rig looks great, good reviews on it also..
My Bro down in Boca Raton spent like $26 thousand on one of those high end light your home up generators, in case of power loss.
Hell that is all you need for basics till power gets restored..
Another Bro here is a contractor.. We lost power few years back for around a week..
I could have cared less. Start a fire in the back yard, punch a whole in a can of beans, cook the meat. Wash up in the canal..
Girlfriend went bezerk.. She misses Judge Judy, Judge Joe, or Dr. Phil..
Contractor brought me 3 generators, good dude..
Mother friggen wires through this house, doors open for the wires.
S.O.B.s came in drank all my cold beer..
Never again with the generators without that rig..

I BET FLOORING GUYS AN DRY WALL PEOPLE WILL BE VERY BUSY FOR A YEAR OUT THERE. WINDO GUYS AS WELL AS REMODLERES ECT. THE GYPSY MASSES ARE LIEKLY ON THERE WAY. I WAS TALKING TO MY FLOORING BUDDY TODAY ABOUT IT. TOLD HIM IT WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO BY A SEMI TRAILER FULL OFF CARPET AN HEAD OUT THERE. I WAS THINKING OFF ALL THE FLOODED CARS THAT WILL BE FOR SALE AN A NOTE TO THINK TWICE AT THE AUCTIONS AN SWAPMEETS THIS SPRING.

THAT SNOW STROM DONT LOOK GREAT WHATS NESXT YOU GUYS GET A ICE STORM???? HANG IN THERE.

IF I HAD THE MONEY ID RATHER HAVE TWO SMALLE HONDA GENERATORS THAN ONE BIG ONE. THERE QUITER AN YOU CAN MOVE THEM EASIER AN DEVIDE THEM UP OR SHUT ONE DOWN. LESS LIKELY TO HAVE TWO FAIL VS ONE.

I CONSIDERED CONVERTING MY SMALL GENERATER TO PROPAINE AS THE HOUSE IS RUN ON IT, AN GENERALY THERE IS A 500 GALLON TANK OF IT WHEN i CAN AFFORD TO FILL IT. NO NATURAL GAS HERE. I WOULD NOT LOOSE THE GASOLINE AS BACK UP THOUGH.

Hopefully you were able to use a clothes dryer when the power came back on.

Follow your instincts, keep your head and you'll be good to go.
Us praying for your crazy ass won't hurt either.

Sprat - glad to hear you are safe. I have something to send your way, should I send it to you NJ address or is there another address you'd rather get it at? You can PM me to let me know. I only ask as I'd hate to have it go to NJ and be tied up do to everything going on there.

And the multifuel generator setup sounds interesting.

    Default Sniper..

Send it UPS, not USPS.. I just sent a large package too a Bro on Long Island..
UPS even gave me notice with their "excellent tracking" it could possibly be delayed.. Be damned if they did not get it their earlier than expected.
No power out there and trees down, no traffic lights.. They probably had to drive on people lawns.. God bless UPS..

Interesting chart.. Driving in Thailand a few years back, I see all these propane tanks in the back of a lot of the small trucks..
I ask my Bro whats up with that?
"Gas prices go up, they switch too their propane tanks to run their trucks."
Hell I have the mechanical ability of a gibbon ape. Found it quite interesting.
I will bet a case of beer, we are going to see gas prices go through the roof here soon..

Well hell that is some good news, good for you and your family..
On another forum a member, retired NYPD Police Officer, who now owns a high end security "body guard" company...
Lives about 70 miles west of Port Jefferson.. A 7 foot wall of water came down his road and took out everything, everything..
Homes, cars, power poles, just gone gone gone.. He works in the city and the only way he can get too work is on his motorcycle..
His house, thank God, is on a bit of a hill so it is intact.
They told him they might?? have power restored by Thanksgiving?
Our family home West Haven Ct. overlooking long island sound. On a hill.
No damage, none, never even lost power..
Restaurants, homes just below her along the beach, devastated..
Prayers too yah. Be safe up there..
