News this morning said shooter still alive; total 13 dead, 30 wounded. Stats will probably be further adjusted. Let's see what spin the government puts on this one. Here in N. VA no one is allowed to carry any personal weapons onto any USAMDW Army posts (when I was still an active SDUSM had to turn in my issue Sig 228/Glock 30 when entering a military post even on official duty. duh...what's wrong with that picture?). Dumb-ass rules get people killed.

my point exactly!! the United States Soldiers are expected to put themselves in harms way to protect the USA, and bring freedom to the rest of the world. but, are not allowed to protect themselves on their own military bases??
come on now, doesn't the military train soldiers to properly handle firearms??
im not saying let everyone in the military carry, i think it should be handled the same way as civilian ccl issues.
I'm no expert on the military, but i think we need to take better care of the peole out there makeing it so we can sleep at night!!!

Back in the day, "68" when we went to Lawory AFB in Denver to pick up a friend, we got checked good. We were then issued a pass for our windshield that had to be turned in at the same guard post that gave it to us. We were "educated" about staying away from the restricted areas. Don't worry we WILL just shoot you, because you know better,now. This was the Nam era, and there were not incidents at the AFB. Hippy or terrorist.
