Feinstein: Veterans All Have PTSD And Are Crazy, so Shouldn’t Own Modern Rifles

The Judiciary Committee is meeting today to mark-up the various civilian disarmament bills before the Senate. One of the bills in the frame: Senator Feinstein’s ”Assault Weapons Ban.” Readers watching the proceedings online tell TTAG that a proposed amendment would allow veterans to keep buying their “assault weapons” just like retired cops. Senator Feinstein opposed the amendment on the basis that veterans have PTSD and can’t be trusted with guns. Here’s her exact words:

I THINK WE HAVE TO — IF YOU’RE GOING TO DO THIS, FIND A WAY THAT VETERANS WHO ARE INCAPACITATED FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER MENTALLY, DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO THIS KIND OF WEAPON.
These are the same veterans we hand fully automatic machine guns to on a regular basis and send into battle. Feinstein considers them too crazy to own an AR-style rifle back home in the United States. Imagine that.

Black Blade: Senator Frankensteins' dementia is obviously getting worse. I think once a politician reaches 80 years of age they should be forced into retirement. These alzheimer ridden politicians are not only embarassing but are a gross distraction to the real problems facing America. Senator Frankenstein is just a moonbarking lunatic with a microphone. That is so offensive. I hope she keeps spouting this stuff. Our vets are already angry about being on the list of potential terrorists. Now she wants to thank them for their service by taking their rights? Sorry Senator, PTSD is not new. It didn't just start with the Iraq war. The more you say, the less people will listen.

Also, a check of Pistol License records shows that Senator Schumer possesses an "unrestricted" pistol permit, a rarity in New York City. Licenses are distributed in different categories in the Big Apple: Target Permits allow only use of a firearm at a licensed firing range; Premises Permits allow weapons to be kept in a home or apartment; Restricted Permits allow the gunowner to carry their firearms concealed but only within the purview of their job (security, jewelers, armored car guards, etc.). So it's evident that Senator Schumer has two sets of rules -- one for Americans and one for himself
Another example is the loudmouth entertainer, Rosie O'Donnell, who once ran roughshod over conservative actor Tom Selleck because of his stance supporting the Second Amendment. Although Ms. O'Donnell doesn't carry a gun,she has three armed bodyguardswho protect her, her wife and herchildren, something the vast majority of hardworking Americans could never afford. Isn't it comforting to know all these Liberals are looking out for us.
