He did take home a trophy for design. Every year I ask him if he wants to build a fast car or a cool one and so far he's picked the cool one and he loves military vehicles. Year before last he did a duce-n-half with a single rear axle as the pack couldn't give a straight answer on dual axles even if one wasn't functional. Last year it he had a hard time deciding between a hummer, scout car and a duck. It's hard to get him motivated to get started, but once he does he gets excited except for sanding. We were lucky and found a scout car model with a scale close enough that the accessories looked normal enough. We used a mill for most of the wood removal. I'd set it up and he'd cut. Only a few mis cuts which wood puty hid.
