Default publik edukashun in ameerka

Recently I was watching a report on CNN about school systems around the world. They reported that the United States comes in a number 25 in educating our youth. We are behind countries such as Hungary, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia and Uzbeksitan. We rank number 15 in science. But, we spend far more on “education” in this nation than any other country on earth. Our so-called educators get Gold Plated Salaries, Gold Plated Benefits and Gold Plated Pensions! So, we don’t get much “bang for the buck!” It’s more like a fizzle!
One problem is that schools have changed since I went to school. Back then, schools taught the “3 R’s--reading ‘riting and ‘rithmetic.” I learned to do times-tables from 1 times 1 through 9 times 9 in the second grade! I was taught to count by 2s and3s. I also learned to write “Cursive” style in the second grade.
Today, students don’t have to learn arithmetic; they can use a calculator. A while back I stopped at a pizza parlor to buy a “take it and bake it” pizza. The cost was $7.99. I paid with a ten dollar bill. The teenage boy (16 , 17, 18 ?) was unable to figure out my change! I ask: “How hard is that? Is there any reason a teen age boy or girl should not be able to instantly figure out that change? How much time do you need?” And, Cursive writing is no longer a requirement.
The trouble with today’s schools are that the government and other far leftist groups control them, not the parents. Today's schools are teaching un-American programs. Our schools now teach children that the old ethics and morals on which this former great nation were founded are no good. the old ways are obsolete. The way of life that most of the world has today is better. Countries like China, Russia, Cuba and Muslim countries have a better way of life.
Instead of true knowledge that is needed to survive in today’s world, children are taught how to pull condoms on cucumbers, how to hate Christianity, how homosexuality is a preferred life style. They are taught to rely on government for all their needs. America’s schools are use to channel “Political Correctness" and other socialistic programs to the little ones.
I almost cry when I think of the future of this once grand old Republic.

That's one of the few good things. We had to learn how to write cursive, but never to read it. I quit doing it around the fourth grade; got sent to the office a few times, but I held my ground.

Cursive was a holdover from the days of quill pens dipped in ink; it was harder to read than separate letters, and had no purpose when we were required to use lead pencils the diameter of broomsticks.

Many of you here know how I feel about the education system. Forcing kids into a school by geographic location and get upset when another school pops up with the ability to better provide quality education. Then the unionized teachers (who are tenured and can't be fired) protest and say it's for the good of the children. Yet they don't improve their methods.

Chicago has the worst performing schools in the country but the best paid teachers ($70,000 annually...How many of you get paid that much for not performing?) Between the years of 2005 and 2011 the entire city of Chicago fired 10 teachers for underperforming and still only 25% of High School juniors can pass any part of a standardized test (That's covering all subjects)... The city of New York had to pay $800,000 of taxpayer money to fire a tenured teacher who was touching his female students... Where is the problem with that? No standards, no competition, nothing driving these teachers to keep their jobs because union rules stipulate that nothing short of murder can get them fired.

Now teachers no longer want to teach the Constitution... They teach the students the "evils" of American history and don't even come close to showing a comparison to coutries like China, Russia, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, etc... The truth is the teachers bank on bad parenting. They hope they are the only influence in these kids' lives. They call themselves teachers and the Soviet Union used to call them Useful Idiots. Those who would push our beliefs with very little coaxing. While they think they will be respected when change occurs, they have no idea they would be the first to be lined up and shot.

Get involved and stay involved with yor kids. Doing otherwise would be a disservice to them and to the future of the America we all grew up in and some of us swore to defend. We are the only chance they have to stand up against the new generation of self-proclaimed "educated" people who have mastered expressing themselves in 200 characters or less.

Oh and on a final note... When you come across these "teachers" make sure to remind them to thank the nearest tree for producing the oxygen they steal from the rest of us, and don't bother with the ones who feel oxygen in not produced by a chemical reaction, but provided to us by our king and messiah.
