Three people were injured during a shooting on the campus of Lone Star College in Houston, Texas, this afternoon, causing the school to be locked down and evacuated while police searched for a suspect.
olice officials who spoke on campus at 3 p.m. today said that shots were fired on the campus and at least three people were injured.
"A person of interest has been detained," said Major Armando Tello of the Harris County Sherrif's Department.
Tello described the situation as "ongoing."

Two individuals with multiple gunshot wounds are in serious condition at Ben Taub Hospital, according to ABC News affiliate KTRK.
Emergency reponders are currently on campus.
Police were searching for a man described as 6-foot-2 and wearing a Atlanta Falcons cap, KTRK reported.

A statement on the school's website advised students and faculty to "shelter in place" wherever they are on campus. It gave no details of the shooting situation.
The shooting comes only a month after the massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Conn., in which 20 students and six staff members were shot, sparking a wave of attempted copycat crimes in states like California and Indiana.

CBS/KHOU) HARRIS COUNTY - Both suspects in a shooting Tuesday at Lone Star College in the Houston area are now in custody, a law enforcement source told CBS affiliate KHOU.

Harris County Sheriff's Maj. Armando Tello says the shooting was the result of an altercation between two people, and at least one was a student. He said a maintenance man was injured in the crossfire.
Tello said another person was taken to a hospital for medical reasons.
Both men in the dispute reportedly pulled out guns and shot at each other.
According to the station, the injured suspect was taken to an area hospital handcuffed to a stretcher, but the other one evaded authorities. Around 2:30 p.m., that suspect turned himself in at Northwest Medical Center, according to the KHOU source.
The Lone Star College System has an enrollment of 90,000 students and six campuses, according to its website.

Authorities say the shooting was an altercation between two individuals, at least one of whom had student identification. One of the two men pulled out a handgun. A third person, identified as a maintenance man, was accidentally hit. Another woman, uninvolved in the shooting, was taken to an area hospital for a medical condition.
Two people have been detained for further questioning, though no charges have been files. One of the suspects was reportedly wounded in the shooting, and the other was arrested by a Houston Police Department SWAT team in a wooded area.
