I believe that if this happened where I work we would start to get police escorts. In fact the cops show up to most of our calls now unless busy elsewhere.

She was shot outside of fire station #1 where they have a police office.

That's a little disturbing. I don't know any of the details about it other than she was killed. is it normal for those fire stations to have a police officer?

Because of distance from the police station the police have an office there for doing reports and such.

As far as I know it is not necessarily a common thing.

NO, you misunderstood. There is an office in the fire station used by the police. There are no assigned people there it is just an office that individual officers use to do reports and such. It is a fire station, not a police station.
