Marines Never leave the bolts out of their rifles unless ordered to do so by a yellow bellied POTUS!

Those are fully funtional rifles used for the purpose of drill. They have been modified to perform certain ways during show, but functional none the less. But I get why they did it. You wouldn't want one of them to load itself and start shooting everybody like many guns do.

When Bush Sr was at Ft Campbell they did the same thing. :)

When Reagan visited us in 1982, we did NOT have disabled weapons. Ours were fully functional. In fact, Officers and NCOs were issued ammo.
