I don't know if this has been addressed before but in April of 2009 the U.S. Flag Code was changed.
Previously, only personnel in uniform could salute the flag during the National Anthem/Pledge of Allegiance ect. The rest of us removed our hat (if wearing) and or place our right hand over our heart.
Now all veterans can salute the flag. No longer do you have to place your hand/hat over your heart.
You’ve got to try it. It feels great!!!!!!

This is great, but it would feel kinda funny out of uniform... maybe thats just me.
Don't have adobe on my gaming box but does it define "veteran" ? As in all prior military or only ones who are truly "vets" as in deployed into combat or theater of war ?
I'm sure you know someone who is so mechanically inept that they can't even put gas in their car without setting it on fire,.. Well, Century has no idea if you're the guy with the burning car or the reincarnation of John Moses Browning.

when i moved from being a soilder to vet
i still saluted the flag
it just felt odd any other way
Yes. At our last Nam Vets reunion everyone was saluting the flag.
There always was confusion as to how one showed respect.
Good to see it in print.

I'll have to find the specific place it's authorized, but I do know that the Boy Scouts of America, when in full uniform, salute the flag instead of the hand over the heart.
