Postak 7.62x39 ar-15 mags C-produsct poll

you know i bought a couple of these when the first came out and used them on my first 7.62x39 build.

they seemed to work OK except for one mag which did get a little dremmel work and now it runs OK.

over at the mall-ninja place it seems like they have had a bunch of problems with these mags. and are STILL having problems with them.

of the dozen i have bought from the first run to the last -

-i haven't had to send back for replacement. no jams, or other problems to speak of--and over half of mine are the so called "slick" finished ones that are supposedly the bad ones the mall-ninjas claim.

the only "gripe" besides the overly bent shape is that mine don't hold 30 rounds--the most i can get in them is 29--LOL

now i know a bunch of builders here on gunco built a few 7.62x39 ar-15s and used these same kind of mags.

what kind of experiences did you have with the 7.62 C-mag?

you can vote for more than one--

the most i can get in mine is about 25. i did notice if you leave them loaded over night the "lips" will open up and make it hard to insert into the mag well.

humm, so far i haven't encountered that problem of them spreading. and i have about half of them fully loaded at all times.

all of mine hold 28-29 rounds as well.

yea 4th that is what i am trying to find out.

are the 7.62x39 c-products generally any good or not?

mine seem to be pretty good , they have functioned fine so far.

a friend of mine that has a registered 1976 m-16a-1 ran one of my 7.62x39 uppers with my mags for a few hundred rounds/ he says 300--but i'll bet more like 600+ LOL

i don't know how much he shot full auto but at least 6-7 mags worth.

not a scientific test but not one jam or hiccup.

but i keep hearing all these other guys with problems so i am wondering if i am just lucky or what?

I have several of them , and have only used 1 and it is problematic when you try to load it all the way.

Many years ago. Our Govt. issued 20 round mags. The old timers told me too only put 19 rounds in them, or they would cause jamming problems.
I was not about too argue with them so I did as they said.

i don't think these C-prod 7.62x39 mags will even hold 30 rounds. some of mine hold 28 a couple will hold 29. i generally load 27-28 rounds in them max.

with the newer mags in 5.56 it is OK to load them all the way up to 30 rounds.

the older mags in 20 and 30rd we were told the same thing 4th. we put about 18 rounds in the 20s and about 26-28 rounds in the 30s.

i just finished going over some the mags that i have been firing and a couple that i haven't even taken out of the wrap.

what i found was the new in wrap mags had the mag spring installed backwards, letting the follower dip down and causing a bind midway down the mag. this also is stopping the mag from filling up fully.

the bind starts at about 25-26 rounds.

turning the spring around so it lifts the front of the follower helps a bunch. and they now will hold a full 30 rounds--

feeding the rounds out by hand the mag seems much smoother and the follower don't want to tilt over near as bad as before.

try this and see if it helps--
