Post1911 best auto pistol design--

what is the "BEST" all around semi auto pistol design?

no holds barred, plastic vs steel, foreign/imports vs domestic made --which is the best in accuracy, reliable operation ?

you only get ONE vote so make it count.

take your time! i threw in some real stinkers just for laughs!

you knew i would vote 1911, but i do have a real fondness for the 45 acp eaa witness match! which would be the 1911s only real competition--LOL!

My first pick is always the 1911 followed by HiPower or CZ75.

Yea , for sure, some REAL STINKERS!!! I lean towards 1911 design too, but there's allot HK and Sig stuff made to overcome the very few short commings the 1911 platform has. Damn a combo of the two would be PERFECT. The Bersa 45 I recently got comes pretty close design wise to that with the best features of both, other than capacity. As do the Sigs I can't afford. I had to vote the 1911 route sense Sig has pretty much what I discribed before with the same basic design, but with capacity.

if i was rating um

#1 1911

#2 would be the single action witness match,

# 3 would be regular witness/CZ-75s

i haven't owned a witness, just recently i got a old small frame witness wonderfinish in .40 short and weak. circa about 1999/2000 --

anyway it is a sweet piece with a very good out the box good trigger, accurate and reliable. there ain't but two things on it i don't like one is the made in front sight and the other it has only a 4.5" barrel-- i keep saying i am going to swap in a 9mm barrel--but the 1911 building bug has got me--again!
