century CETME 308s?

i had a pal that bought one a few years ago. his ran fine but grouped like it was a smooth bore. this is the only one of these i have shot.

i keep hearing horror stories of either rifles that fail to function, shot out barrels, cracked receivers and the worst of all ground bolts to make them head-space!

checking around on the net this same rifle has a pretty decent though not stellar rep. about 7 out of ten seem happy with them.

you folks that have had one of these how did they do overall?

Mine runs fine right out of the box. I bought it from AIM I believe.

I bought and sold several Cetmes looking for "a winner".

I ended up with a Cetme that was built from a kit by a respected 'smith as I never found a Century job that wasn't boofooed in some way or other.

They don't just grind the bolt heads, you know.

I bought one several years ago. After come tinkering, and a lots of cleaning
It ran fine. Findley sold it. Don't wont another one.
Got a 223 Century 33 a while back. Shots great, and runs fine.
Not all things from these people is Sh#t.

I love mine!!
HOWEVER it is the replacement. I sent the first one back to century 3 times before they sent a replacement.
the first one would actualy fold the cartrage over not feed it in the chamber, every third or fourth round. they screwed around with it again and again. the last time they rewelded it and blew holes through the reciever, burnt paint lines from the welding heat.
finaly I got someone that agreeded that this was unexceptable and sent a replacement.
I love it!!

my recomendation is to only buy from a dealer that will let you returne or exchange it if needed
