I took typing during my 7 years of High School.
Typing and Gym was the only thing I ever got an A in.

I learned typing in the 10th grade. Learned the hard way. Typing class had typewriters with all the letters removed from the keys. First couple weeks were hell but I left there typing 55 w3pm.

I'm a two finger & thumb typer, thumb for the space bar, I tried one of those typing programs once and just can't get the hang of doing it the right way.

Even still have my manual Smith Corona parked in the closet. On the computer with a good keyboard I can close in on over 90wpm.

Never used anything but a keyboard.
Never learned to type formally, just started poking at the old computer keyboard. After 20 years of that I kinda figured out my own system. Now I'm faster than my sister who did take touch type classes and make fewer mistakes. Of course, every so often the damn keyboard takes a crap and the replacement is never exactly the same spacing so for several months I'm relearning.
