Chuckars in Utah

I am new to bird hunting and was wondering if anyone knows of some links to get more info on hunting chuckars in Utah. My own research has shown that people willing to share their knowledge on chuckar hunting is almost as hard as finding the chuckars themselves.

from what i can gather, the habitat is similar to that of quail and pheasant, and the method of hunting is the same.

basically find some CRP fields and start walkin'.

AF is right. I tagged long with a friend that hunts game birds. You basically flush them out like Grouse or Pheasant. He had a bird dog of champion stock and it a thrill to see his dog work.

Chukkers are really not down in the fields with pheasants and such, they are in the hills, rocky areas they LOVE and they are not easy critters to hunt, but if you want to hunt them they can be found. There are quite a few places around here that have chukkers in them. Wind swept hills, rocky areas on those hills (for cover and protection from the wind, and snow)

My old teaching bud used to raise them with his students and then the Fish and Game and the students would them release them.
