For our Australian friends, I will offer the dregs of our animal kingdom -- coyotes.
They are right up there with fire ants: I will go out of my way to kill them.

but they make cool rugs and mounts!
Coyotes have been showing up in ever increasing numbers around here.
They're getting pretty ballsy too, I think they've figured out we can't shoot them.

It's unusual to see them during daylight. They're hard to kill.
They've killed two puppies and our cat. The quail and rabbit populations are down.
I've probably got a half dz roaming through here.

I use to see and hear them around here all the time but havn't for quite awhile. Someone must be putting the brakes on them here.
I shot one while groundhog hunting a few years back that was missing a front paw. Must be some trappers around as well.

when i lived in SD, coyotes were a big problem.....but they're allowed to shoot them.
still a gorgeous animal though.

I think they're beautiful animals.
This one was running through brush 120 yrds off and I made a bad shot on it. Before a coup de grace, I sat down and explained to it why this was happening.
