Default Local pests

Well I just had a run-in with a local pest thats been driving me nuts and harassing our outside domestic pets. Ive tried everything from deterents to hunting it and using a dog as my nose. The racoon is a little too smart for humane traps so has enyone ever detered a pest like this without killing? He has every right to be here as much as I do so Id prefer not to kill him but he is threatening a domestic animal as well as damn near biting me tonight. The only reason Im posting this is my AK jammed. Like I said, I would prefer not to kill him so can anybody suggest a better way?

Beleive it or not a good-for-nothing cat alerted me to him tonight, and I dont like being outsmarted but I suppose thats just evolution.

I use a steel cage and tie bacon around the bottom of it. It has worked for me everytime. Good luck.
