Default Swordslinger's Leather work

I am often asked if I have ever been to jail when folks find out I do/did leather work. I guess they teach that in there to keep them from freaking out and killin one another. Before anyone asks, NO I have not been to prison.

Here is a sample of some of my leather work. I really, really miss doing this. When I get full use of my arm back, Im going straight to the marble slab. Then maybe to the grinder.
You guys that make stuff, I have a tip for ya. Dont get rid of all your work. Give some to your kids first. Out of all the knives Ive made and sold, my kids only have the very first, very crude one. As soon as I can, Im maken one for each of them. I kept puttin it off, and puttin it off............

Here is a Box Call holder you see again later in the hunting pic section. This is worn and used every year.

Here is a Turkey Fan Plague I made while staying in a motel in Louisville Ky. I pecked all night. The guy in the next room complained, but since he was such a pecker head, I worked all night to finish it.
Ive been told that Im "meanernhell".

My first Box-call holder. I'm not sure, but I think this one may have went hunting with John Michael Montgomery. I wrote a Scripture on the bottom of the holder, "For many are called, but few are chosen". The Taxidermist did up a bunch of shirts with that Scripture on the back, and I know John Michael did a show wearing that shirt. I was told he did a video with it on too, but I sure aint seen it. Cool wittness for the Lord, I thought. All because the Spirit moved me to write that on the bottom of the call holder. I thought it was cool.

Thanks. Believe it or not, More "preachers" pick fights with me about my sig line than anyone else. Go figure.

Someone here told me to go check out the "upper room". Me being new and all, kinda lost the link, or forgot where it is. If I would be welcome, would you post the link?

I have chronic head, neck and back pain, and RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) in both arms. Basically nerve damage. The doctors say that I'm stuck this way forever, but they are all full of crap!!! Two of them even say I have Drain Bamage (I did that on purpose lol) One doctor told me that one day (that this is permenant and that I wouldnt get any better) and I laughed in his face and told him the Great Physician was the final authority on the matter, not him. Then you know what he did? He sent me to see a shrink!!! As far as knife makin goes, I'm kinda affraid of the grinder and buffer, since my hands dont always do what my brain tells them, (tough typing). The leather work is just constant pounding. With RSD, the clothing on your skin hurts, the water runing over your skin hurts, from the joints all the out to the skin. It is hard to explain. All I know is this: My Lord and Savior will deliver me from this, and even if He dosnt do it in my time frame, He will. There is a purpose for it. I promised a friend I would try to make him a sheath. I'm gonna do it!!! (Lord willin) Just like I plan to go Spring Gobbler huntin this spring, if it be The Lord's Will. And I believe it is, because He not only bore our sins on the cross, but also our infirmities.

It's been tough financially. We are going through a fix right now, but we are being delivered by the prayers of the Saints as we speak. I have been out of work for two years. I have started a book, and I am about half way finished. It is a Christian book.

Thats pretty much my life right now. My son and I have built a couple of AKs while lurking here and learning. Working with my hands, regardless how painfull, really helps. As you all probably know by now, I reeeeealllly miss hunting. Being up in that tree stand or in that blind with The Lord Jesus was a huge part of mine and my families life. I miss it. Bad!

I consider those guys very good friends. We have had a trouble maker come in an "disturb the peace" but it was quickly "fixed". We are small, Christian, and love good fellowship. While my title there is "Admin" the fella YourLocalNerd is the real owner and just asked me to help. Good people. Real good people. We pray and fast for each other when there is a problem, and welcome others to join us.

Most folks see that my title "Admin", then read some of my far right wing posts and think that others are not welcome. Thats not the way it is. I am a far right wing Christian Extremist and make no illusions that I am not. My King was and Extremist!!! Most of the guys over there dont agree with me on my religious views nor politics. But we still love each other like Brothers, because we are Brothers. That's my take on The True Republic.

That is beautiful work..(nice rack, too!!!) With as much attention to detail as I've seen so far, I like to see your AK builds.

BigAl and I will be going up, you could catch a ride with us to the shoot if you could make it to Catlettsburg and you don't mind riding with a couple of beer drinkin' heetherns!!!! We're not TOO bad, I think Preacher likes us!!!!

I dont mind at all. I might have a beer or two with ya. I woulnd count on me drivin though, I cant turn my head very well. This whole thing was caused by my head being pushed back farther than the Good Lord meant for it to go. Cattletsburg is right down the road from me. I live out around Cave Run lake between Frenchburg and Morehead.
