It's true PPW. I have a State Preserve a couple miles west of me. It straddles the highway. The south side is a smaller area bordering on a huge tract of patrolled Morman property and the city water plant. It gets no hunting. The north side is full of hunters for all the different hunting seasons. You can hike on the south side during the season and you're literally tripping over the wildlife at every turn. It's pretty impressive to see

I was out scouting some farm land for bowhunting next year. Started walking away from the house toward the wooded area. I got about 10 yards away from the barn and BAM! A freakin HUGE whitetail, probably 4-5 years old, and around 160-ish points gross jumped out of his little safe haven right next to the barn.

I called the farmer a couple days later just after a rain and he said he saw fresh tracks around the barn, so I know I haven't scared away the big guy. Hope to have him on my wall after next year's bow season.
