Wahoo! Just brought home an Elk!

Well this year as a rough year but I was again able to get an Elk bow hunting this year. After about a nine day grind I finally got lucky!

I have one or two but I think the second one didd't turn out. I got her just before dark and didn't have my camera so I took the picture when I got back about 10:30pm when I started dragging her out. I finished about 3am. I will get the picture posted as soon as I unpack my trailer and find the camera! ;-) I was alone as all my friends had given up that morning so there is no special pose ;-)

Congrats! My buddies and I went out to the Bitterroot mountain range in 93 bow hunting elk. I think bow hunting elk makes bow hunting deer look easy.

Can you take more this year? I stoped by my old employers to see my buddy. He just got a deer for Ky bow season. He goes back for blackpowder and rifle season too.

Thanks guys... You can only get more if you win one of the raffle tickets they have for Elk.

Moleman the bitter roots are a great place I have heard. I really like Montana. Lets just say that I am 100% on deer with a bo I have never not gotten my deer but I am currently about 60% on Elk for the last 5 years. I can usually get my deer in a weekend but this elk took me 9 days and it was 7 days last year before I got an Elk. Now let me tell you I am not a trophy hunter I am in it purely for the meet so I am looking for decent sized Elk and Deer so I don't pass up much on deer and almost never pass something for Elk.

still looking for the camera...

Agree with moleman. Good hunting and good shooting! It takes a special dedication to harvest elk with a bow.

Meat-hunter here, too. Young, mature (around 2 y/o) buck or fat barren doe. The best steaks, better than prime beef as far as I'm concerned.
