Id use the sagia with slugs out to 100 yards If it will maintain a group. make ure the choke your gun uses is compatable. most Sagias have horrable triggers so make sure your profeciant with it. id recomed a red dot sight ad well.
good advice. I have hunted wild pigs in northern California with dogs things happen fast when you get in close. I have had the pig run the dogs back right between my legs and dam near knock me over. a second shot dont hurt as well.
definatly shoot the gun with slugs and make sure it will work out ok. Do yiu have a regular AK??
My Saiga is good with slugs out to 100 yds. I have a poly choke on it so I can adjust to slugs. My trigger is good I converted it and put in a g2. I have a PKAV red dot on it. I do have a regular AK that I could consider. I wonder how the AK or Saiga would be viewed at the airport?? I don't want to get hasseled. Here is a pic of my Saiga.
nice gun. Id call your guide and get there input on the area and range you will be hunting. as long as your gun is legal there the air ports should not be a issue. Id call the airport ahead of time and get all the specifics as to what is required. Id also get a really good gun case that will accept paddle locks. I like the aluminum ones but there pricy.
100% legal in gun friendly Florida.
Check with the airlines you are flying about there transportation rules.
The weapon has to be locked in a solid case.
They give you a form to fill out.
They will ask you if it is unloaded, locked secure and in the baggage hold she goes.
Use a really good secure strong case.
My buddy was going elk hunting out west. Someone??? tried to pry the case open. He never found out who..
He knew this cause the case was brand new and he could see where they tried to pry it open.
Now he locks the hard case and puts very heavy duty tie wraps for added protection.
When you get too Okeechobee. Go to the restaurant by the boat launch at the north end of the lake. Lot of big critters stuck to the walls.
Have not been there in awhile. But that is really good hunting A.O.. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

did the hunt last tuesday afternoon. We went out around noon and by 1:30 we were done. Great guide and we really had a lot of excitement and fun.
here are a couple of pictures from the day. I bagged mine with a Saiga 12 with a slug. One shot to the neck/shoulder and that's all it took. The dogs flushed him out of a water hole and held him until the guide called them off for me to shoot. Mine is the one in the middle. My son's chased theirs down by foot and got them on the run. I used Ron's guide service and it was a great experience!
My sons used a Mosin m44 and a 454 casull to bag theirs.
I hope I rembember to post in the morning. I am so glad you guys had a good time. Yeees...

I'm still contemplating what to shoot? Considering a Mosin M39, a Swiss K31 or a Saiga 12 guage. Any should get the job done. What do you think?
Use that Bohica with some copperhead custom swaged bullets. 750gr would work nice!

with good dogs I have litteraly used a Knife once three basicaly caught by the dogs. we used to use 22 mags but In california they decided you had to use a center fire on big game and made the 22 mag illeagle. most guys swithed to 357 pistols or small rifle rounds like the M1 carbine or some thing simular. I never liked exposing the dogs to the muzzel blast or the possable ricoshet of a big gun. the dogs usualy had the thing streached out so a simple close range in the head shopt was all that was nessacry.
