Default Good place to do serious hiking/fishing/camping in SoCal?

My dad and I are planning to hike into a forest, fish, then camp overnight, fish again, and hike back out. We're thinking about the San Bernardino forest, but any suggestions on a heavily wooded, scenic area will do! Preferably within 100 miles of Riverside. Thanks!

A serious hike in-out trek for camping and fishing in so cal is a trek to Siberia Creek. It is an immense loss gain hike of over 2500feet in a 2-3 mile stretch from either direction you take to get there. You could also do a car shuttle. The creek has wild trout, catch and release single barbless regs apply.

Another spot is a trek to fishermans camp along deep creek. This is a nice loop hike and deep creek is well known for great swimming holes as well. The fishing again is for wild trout, catch and release single barbless regs apply,
