I prefer the Coldsteel Kukris over traditional Machettes. They don't make the exact one that I have anymore but this is an improved version. http://www.coldsteel.com/39lgk.html

Most Machettes are junk. I have not used any of their machettes but would prefer a Bolo type for heavy cutting due to more weight at the end.

I bought a really nice gerber. And they arnt all that expensive.
