It's always sad to see rifles being destroyed. It's too bad that they can't just be stored in warehouses out in Arizona somewhere.

one day the US of A may be in real dire need of a few rifles. the US taxpayer has paid for them all cash up front. WHY are these weapons being given away to our friends/soon to be enemy?

the damn heads of state that gave our shit away should have to pay full retail 2009 price out of his retirement plan for every single taxpayer weapon he gave away! along with every other thing they have give to the UN/ humanitarian aid and the like-- it is time for a drink--LOL!

You never use/reuse old rifles, too much kickback money to be made from the contracts for new rifles. The recent program to upgrade and re-issue M14s I still can't figure out. Someone must be making a lot of money off the refurb program.

Man, it would be SOOOO fucking profitable for the US Military to sell decommissioned small arms back to the public...

Cut the receivers if you must, but save the barrel, stock, goodies, etc...

Hell, they could totally re-receiver them and STILL turn a small profit, along with being able to lower the FUCK outta taxes!!!

P.s. If this Iraq war thing ever comes to a close, someone's GOT to get to Iraq and buy up a ton of left-behind US rifles, cut them up, and ship parts back home...

you know i wonder when that US ARMY surplus m16a1 the guard is holding is going to turn up in the hands of some drug cartel?

i'll bet as soon as the local "drug task force" got the new surplus A1's they went and sold the m-14 to the drug lords. so as soon as the DTF gets some new A2s--the A1s end up on the black market.

the irony is that guy is likely looking at his previously issued weapon!!!--this MAP thing is FURBAR!!!
